What Is PTPA MedNet?
PTPA MedNet is the PTPA's groundbreaking Medical Network program that provides players and their teams 24/7, 365 access to a variety of health and wellness services and resources, regardless of where they are in the world. The program is led by the esteemed Dr. Robby Sikka, the inaugural PTPA Medical Director.
The program is specifically designed to support the PTPA's mission of protecting professional tennis players' health and safety.
What kinds of services does PTPA MedNet offer?
Through PTPA MedNet, Dr. Sikka and his team are available to work with players and their teams to provide medical consultation and data analysis on a wide range of health and wellness challenges, such as:
- Preliminary medical opinions and independent, secondary medical opinions
- Medical record reviews
- Recommendations for qualified doctors and physical therapists around the world
- Injury prevention strategies
- Treatment plans
- Return-to-play strategies
Who can utilize PTPA MedNet?
PTPA MedNet is available to all current professional tennis players worldwide. It is a 100% free service. Players within the PTPA's core player group of focus (Top 250 men's and women's singles, Top 100 men's and women's doubles), will be supported on a first come, first served basis. For players outside the PTPA's core player group, access to the service will be subject to the availability of Dr. Sikka and his team.
How do I utilize PTPA MedNet?
Players and player teams can leverage PTPA MedNet by submitting a request via one of the provided PTPA contact methods to the left. The PTPA will work with each player and player team to connect them with Dr. Sikka and the appropriate PTPA MedNet team members.
