PTPA Statement on Dismissal of D.C. Lawsuit

August 21, 2026 – Yesterday, the plaintiffs in the Washington, D.C. lawsuit voluntarily dismissed every claim against every defendant. They received no payment, no settlement and no other consideration.

The result speaks for itself. In less than two months, two different judges rejected their arguments three separate times. No court removed or displaced the players who govern the PTPA. No court reinstated any former employee. Now, every remaining claim has been withdrawn.

From the beginning, the PTPA has been built on a simple principle: professional tennis players deserve an independent organization governed by players and accountable to players. That principle has not changed. Neither has our resolve.

Those who sought to divide the players or undermine their organization did not succeed. The PTPA remains what it has been from the beginning, with players standing together, governing their own organization and advocating for meaningful change in professional tennis.

Our focus remains on representing professional tennis players, protecting their interests and fighting for a stronger, fairer future for every player. That includes the antitrust case in the Southern District of New York, where the players and the PTPA are holding the tours and Grand Slams accountable.
