PTPA and Apeak Tennis Form Global Partnership, Extending On-Demand Mental Performance Training to Players at Scale

Apeak Tennis bolsters PTPA’s growing suite of mental and physical health and wellness services

Washington, D.C., Sept. 25, 2024 – The Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA), global advocates for women’s and men’s professional tennis players, today announced a new partnership with Apeak Tennis (Apeak), tennis’ top-ranked mental performance application. As the Official Mental Performance App of the PTPA, Apeak will provide complimentary annual subscriptions to professional tennis players and their support teams, empowering them with effective, accessible, and equitable mental training. The partnership was generated by the PTPA’s commercial affiliate, Winners Alliance.

Apeak’s robust and scientifically-backed programming is led by Dr. Jim Loehr, a world-renowned performance psychologist who has worked with numerous tennis stars, including 12 world No. 1 players. Over the last four years, Apeak has partnered with over 130 college teams and empowered thousands of players worldwide. Players have reported that consistent use of Apeak’s mental training not only elevates tennis performance but also enhances overall mental well-being. Thousands of users who have committed to the program have shared stories of overcoming years of mental barriers, discovering clear strategies to enhance their mental game, and reigniting their passion and purpose for the sport they love.

“Regular meetings with a sports psychologist can be incredibly helpful for player performance. However, a sports psychologist is not accessible for many players, and without consistent daily exercises, meeting with a mental coach is not enough to reach the next level,” said Brian Park, Founder and CEO of Apeak Tennis. “True progress requires daily visualization training to strengthen neural pathways, programming the mind to respond effectively to different situations, and consistent practice of mindfulness exercises to enhance concentration and present-moment awareness. Apeak Tennis bridges this gap by offering tennis-specific daily exercises, making mental training accessible and affordable and empowering athletes to achieve peak performance. We’re proud to partner with the PTPA to provide equitable and convenient training to players and their teams worldwide.”

“Apeak is an impactful addition to the PTPA’s Mental Fitness Program and our holistic offering of player health and wellness services,” said Damon Valentino, PTPA Mental Fitness Director. “Just as elite athletes in other major professional sports have access to world-class mental performance training, pro tennis players should be empowered with easy access to mental performance resources that are available anywhere in the world at any time.”

With a focus on players’ authentic experiences with mental well-being and training, Apeak will also work with four players to highlight the role of performance psychology in professional tennis. Paula Badosa (career high No. 2), Marcos Giron (career high No. 37), Sofia Kenin (career high No. 4), and Brandon Nakashima (career high No. 43) will collaborate with Apeak to create unique content exploring the intersection of mental training and on-court performance.
