PTPA and PTCA Partner to Usher In New Era of Support for Players and Coaches

MELBOURNE, Australia – January 8, 2025 – From the site of the Australian Open, the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) and Professional Tennis Coaches Association (PTCA) have announced an exclusive strategic partnership. Spurred by a shared commitment to enhancing opportunities for the professional tennis community, this alliance aims to unify the efforts of professional players and coaches, fostering an environment of mutual growth and enhanced advocacy for both groups.

The PTPA and PTCA’s partnership marks a significant step forward in the tennis industry, promising to bring players and coaches closer in their shared pursuit of the best vision and structure of tennis globally. Recognizing that many coaches are former professional players, this unified approach aims to strengthen the voice and influence of players and coaches by advocating for their interests, promoting a more inclusive and supportive tennis community, and elevating the standards of professional tennis to ensure a brighter future for players and coaches alike.

As part of the agreement, the PTPA and PTCA will engage in a series of collaborative initiatives designed to leverage the strengths of both organizations. Among their earliest priorities, the PTPA and PTCA will work together to produce educational courses focused on professional tour coaching, recognizing the unique challenges and opportunities surrounding the modern day tour. Additionally, the organizations will develop shared benefits for their members, empowering players and coaches with services, tools and continuous learning opportunities designed to enhance their overall well-being and extend support for players who transition into coaching.

Romain Rosenberg, Deputy Executive Director of the PTPA, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting its potential to create new opportunities within the tennis community. “We’re very excited to partner with the PTCA,” he said. “They do so much for professional tennis coaches all around the world, and we believe that by working together, we can provide more opportunities and resources for players and coaches alike, elevating the overall professional tennis community.”

PTCA President Hakan Dahlbo, and Vice-President Sven Groeneveld, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the mutual benefits of the collaboration. “The PTCA is thrilled about the opportunity to partner with the PTPA. The PTPA is the leading players’ organization globally, and by working together, we have the fantastic opportunity to enhance the benefits and status of professional players and coaches. We look forward to a long and prosperous partnership.”

Other coaching institutes, associations, and stakeholders will be invited to become accredited partners or members of the PTCA to benefit from the partnership.
